Angela Pérez is currently Assistant Professor of Choral Music Education at Friends University in Wichita, KS. Prior to her appointment at Friends University she taught choir and vocal music for ten years in the Lawrence, Wichita, and Renwick School districts in Kansas. In addition to her work as a choral educator, she worked for eight years as a music director, curriculum developer, and camps coordinator for a national non-profit youth theater company in Wichita, KS. She has maintained an active private voice studio for over 16 years. In addition to teaching, Angela is an active professional choral singer and soloist, most recently singing with the Lawrence Symphony Orchestra, Wichita Chamber Chorale, Wichita Symphony Orchestra Chorus, and with the Opera Classica Europa in Germany and France. Angela has held soloist and music director positions in several different churches in the Lawrence and Wichita areas. Angela has served on the board and taught for Juniper Arts Academy, a non-profit that brings quality fine arts education to students in the foster care and juvenile justice systems. Angela holds a Bachelor's Degree in Vocal Performance from Friends University, a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education and a Master's degree in Choral Conducting from Wichita State University.
