Jodie Lin is currently in her seventh year as Fine Arts Coordinator for the Kansas City Kansas Public School District, where she previously served as a middle school band teacher, middle school vice principal, and a curriculum coordinator. A 29-year veteran of public school music education, Jodie has dedicated her career to arts advocacy–enjoying eleven years teaching band to students at all levels and, through her administrative work, providing music opportunities for youth and fostering professional growth for fine arts educators. Jodie is active in the same capacity in the community, where she serves on the Incentive Grant Board at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and as President of the UMKC Conservatory Alumni Association. She is the 2017 recipient of the KMEA Honor Administrator Award.
Jodie earned a Bachelor of Music Education and a Master of Music from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance where she studied bassoon and wind conducting. Her enthusiasm for wind band music continues through her work as Artistic Director of Midwest Winds, a community wind ensemble. Additionally, Jodie is passionate about her private studio, as she finds inspiration in guiding the development and success of young bassoonists.
