MS Band - Selection Guidelines

Updated: Sep. 14, 2003

The Middle School District Band is selected by taped audition. Directors will be notified of the date of the concert, the clinician, and the date that the rosters and audition tapes are due. It is the directors' responsibility to select qualified students from their school, provide the audition material, tape the student's audition and send them in to the District MS Band Chair by the due date. The MS Band Chair will get other directors to assist in listening to the tapes and selecting the band using the guidelines listed below.

THE MIDDLE SCHOOL BAND CHAIR MUST RECEIVE THE ROSTER FORM BY THE "ROSTER DUE DATE."
Band directors submitting their student roster after the "roster deadline date"
will be required to pay double the registration fee for each of their students selected.
The minimum amount for this late penalty will be $50.00.

Directors will be notified ASAP of the District Band personnel and should begin to rehearse the music so their students can have a positive experience on the day of the concert.
