Each year the Kansas Music Educators Association provides enrichment activities for the youth of Kansas. At the district and state levels KMEA provides the structure, organization and funding for clinics, workshops and for the many ensemble clinics and performances across the state.

SWKMEA includes all schools within the following counties: Barton, Barber, Clark, Comanche, Edwards, Finney, Ford, Grant, Gray, Greeley, Hamilton, Haskell, Hodgeman, Kearny, Kiowa, Lane, Meade, Morton, Ness, Pawnee, Pratt, Rush, Scott, Seward, Stafford, Stanton, Stevens, and Wichita.

Purpose
This notebook is designed to assist the directors in providing enriching musical experiences for their students. Most of the information needed for District and State KMEA activities is provided here. As information changes from year to year, it will be updated here on the SWKMEA website. Individual directors are responsible for ensuring they hold the latest revision of each page within the Guidelines Notebook. Revision dates have been provided on each page and on the Updates page to assist you. It is the responsibility of the local director to accurately follow all directions and meet the deadlines stated in the information. The Officers of the District and State are there to serve you and the students. Please take advantage of this valuable resource.
